DANISH IFTIKHAR – director Outreach and community Engagement
Mr. Danish Iftikhar is a degree holder in Master of Philosophy in Peace and Conflict Studies. He has
been affiliated with Sustainable Social Development Organization Pakistan (SSDO) as Assistant
Program Manager and has work experience in following thematic areas:
CLIMATE CHANGE & ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
His work in this area mainly focused on the following:
- Strengthening resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related hazards and natural
disasters in Pakistan - Advocacy to integrate climate change measures into national policies, strategies, and
planning. - Spreading education and awareness and building human and institutional capacity on
climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning - Promoting mechanisms for raising capacity for effective climate change-related planning and
management focusing on women, youth, and local and marginalized communities.
HUMAN RIGHTS
He has been involved in community outreach programs aimed at raising awareness about human rights with focus on Child Rights & Protection issues;
- To eliminate all harmful practices against children, such as early and forced marriage, child labor, child trafficking.
- To ensure that all girls and boys complete free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education leading to development and effective learning outcomes.
- To ensure the protection of vulnerable populations and provide immediate support.
